Yipeng Cao focuses his practice on patent preparation, prosecution, and related counseling primarily in the areas of electronics and software.

While attending law school, Yipeng worked with the firm as a summer associate in 2018. He was an extern in the Silicon Valley office of an international law firm where Yipeng prosecuted patent applications in the fields of cloud storage and virtual machine, switch, and storage.

Prior to attending Santa Clara University School of Law, Yipeng worked as a Patent Manager at a world leading semiconductor manufacturer in Singapore where he oversaw patent related matters in the Asia-Pacific region. Previously, Yipeng was a patent attorney at a prominent power equipment manufacturer in Beijing where he conducted technology-specific invention harvesting and prosecuted patent applications before major patent offices worldwide. Yipeng was also a senior patent attorney at an international law firm in Beijing where he prosecuted patent applications and handled patent litigations.

Yipeng is fluent in Mandarin.
